Do you think intelligent people tend to suffer with depression more? Why do you think that is, if you do?
---
i don't know, i can think of a couple of possibilities:
- the brighter you are, the higher your expectations, the more idealistic you are
- they have to get along in a world of people they don't relate to: relative idiots
- life on this planet is boring and tedious for an active mind
- the spirit of an intelligent person gets buried by their own over-analytical nature, they're suffocated by their mind
- they're more aware of all the horrible pain, suffering, unfairness and atrocities of the world
I'm sure there's some psychological study that has a better answer than I do, though.
